Final Project: Werewolf
Final Project: Werewolf
This creature suit was my final project in college, it is comprised of a foam muscles suit, a shaved fur body suit, wooden stilts, articulated fingers, articulated jaw, blinking eyes, posable ears, a custom made costume, and prop.
Full Team: Jude Theriault, Ava Guse, Sean Beer, Gen Kale, Maddy Muszka
This whole project started out with the stilts, since we would need them in order to get the posing and proportions for each of the following steps.
The main materials used were wood, running shoes, bungee, foam, dance sole, and metal brackets.
Built by: Sean Beer
The body suit started out with a duct tape dummy and a tailored morph suit to use as the base. We patterned out each of the foam pieces for the muscles, cut them out of yellow open cell foam, and started the carving process. They were attached with barge and spray 77, then the carving was finalized.
The next major step was furring. Each piece was patterned, cut out, pinned on to confirm the shape then sewn together. Most of the pieces were machine sewn, but the finishing details and seams were hand sewn directly on the suit. Then the suit was finished off with a final airbrush.
The head was one of biggest aspects of this project. The eyes are animatronic. The jaw is articulated to move when the puppeteer opens their mouth. The gums are made of silicone. The tongue and nose are sculpted and cast in silicone. The teeth and skull were 3d modelled and 3d printed. The ears are silicone, wire, and fur.

The hands were another one of our big challenges. They are comprised of 3d printed jointes mounted to gloves with fishing line and barge. They are fully articulated and extend the wearers fingers by a few inches
